Meditation with sound

Do you find silent meditation challenging? I hear this from so many people! As much as I love to sit in silence, I still find some days it is nearly impossible to stop thinking about whatever is happening that day. As always, my “monkey mind,” as we meditators call it, begins to wander and thoughts come in and take over the quiet place I am trying to create and nurture. It’s a natural function of the brain, so no judgment there. Just noticing, with the intention to come back to the silence. Repeating a silent mantra, or focusing on the breath, helps to bring me back to a meditative state. This process is called “quieting the mind.”

Crystal bowls can help to quiet the mind. Like a mantra, the sounds of the bowls focus the mind on listening for the sounds, tones, and movement. It is a delight to hear the bowl sounds, and to experience them as they envelop body and mind. Allowing ourselves to get swept up in the waves helps us to experience oneness with the sound waves – their frequencies, movement, intensity, and ultimately the source of the sounds—the ocean from which the waves come.

The sounds are a direct path to experiencing divine source energy. Quieting the mind allows the direct experience of Presence to unfold. Presence is everywhere, and when we bathe in the ethereal sounds of alchemy crystal bowls, our whole being is invited to flow in the state of oneness.

If you want to experience sound bathing, please subscribe to my online newsletter, and do visit the Crystal Bowl Gallery.com website to explore upcoming events and our gallery of these exquisite alchemy crystal bowls that I co-own with my dear friend CJ. I look forward to sharing these sounds of love and light with you.
